Welcome to Stony Creek where our motto is: Learning every day, growing every way, Stony Creek!
We are very proud of our recent renovations and addition to our building. We hope all parents will stop in to see our changes during Parent Teacher conferences on either October 20th or 25th.
We have volunteer opportunities that range from once a year to once a week, and we will match them to meet your comfort level. Our PTO meetings are every other month, and there are so many ways you can support their efforts for our students and staff. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of our volunteers for the success of our students. We truly believe that we are partners with our families in educating our students.
Stony Creek Elementary will continue our academic focus on: reading comprehension, math problem solving and mastery of facts, and writing about what we read across the curriculum. Our school improvement plan will be posted on this website in September. I encourage you to look in more detail at what we are focusing on at Stony Creek. If you have questions, or you wish to be a part of our school improvement team, please contact me.
This year we will R.O.C.K. at Stony Creek! The R = Respect, the O = Outstanding Attitude, the C = Caring about safety and the K = Knowing and following all procedures.
Our staff spent a lot of time preparing to teach the students how to do the right thing and treat people right so that we can ROCK all around the school! Ask your child if they have earned a ROCK ticket lately and how they did so!
2011-2012 looks to be a great year at Stony Creek, we look forward to making it great with you!
Heidi Karst
Stony Creek Principal
